OK, so sometimes I’m a bit silly. But one of our nicest customers ordered an “extra romantic” beef wellington for her 20th wedding anniversary, so I made this. And I cut those numbers and hearts out of puff pastry freehand with a butcher’s knife (pats self on back).

Homemade beef pies in puff pastry, new in our case. The meltingly-tender beef is slowly braised in our own beef stock with carrots and onions. Pop one in the oven, and pretend your gran just made it for you.
